SID is an AI research lab based in San Francisco. We train models that can retrieve and reason over any data source.
SID shifted from being an infrastructure tool for developers to connect data sources to LLM-powered apps (think middleware/product for developers) to positioning itself as an AI research lab training retrieval and reasoning models. While there is some thematic continuity (data retrieval/AI), this is a meaningful product change from a developer SaaS tool to a core model/research provider.
