Clam (formerly Baseframe)
W26AI agents for hardware design that catch risks and tradeoffs early
Enterprise-grade security for broad-access AI Agents like OpenClaw
BaseFrame helps hardware teams build more efficiently by identifying design gaps, data-driven tradeoffs, and component availability issues before the first board is spun, catching fatal mistakes while they are still cheap to fix. We want to speed-up hardware teams so that they can build the cool innovations they are trying to bring to life with fewer bottlenecks. The current hardware workflow is a broken sequence of handoffs: you finalize a design and send it to procurement, only to discover weeks later that there was an oversight or a critical component has a massive lead time. How It Works • Project Scoping: Specialized AI agents ask you questions to scope out the project and uncover gaps, drilling down with follow up questions if needed or handing off to the next agent when sufficient. It provides suggestions and recommendations for each question, making sure we have thought about everything early on. • Validations: Once the questions are answered, we consolidate them into a document and run parallel agents to once again find issues, contradictions, or areas of improvement. • BOM Generation: Our AI splits the scope into a block diagram and generates a Bill of Materials (BOM) for each by parsing diagrams and tables from datasheets, getting price and lead time data from top vendors, and internal vendor communications. • Versioning & Parallel Agents: You can branch designs and use parallel agents to simulate multiple architectures simultaneously, revealing quantitative tradeoffs in cost, price, and lead times We met during our first week of college and became roommates at Berkeley, and are excited to make physical innovation easier!
AI frameworks like OpenClaw have a major issue: data security. Whether you're an enterprise or an individual exploring AI, your data should stay protected. Clam brings enterprise-grade security through their “Semantic Firewall”, a security checkpoint that sits around the AI's environment at the network level. Our system runs a series of scans on anything your AI sends out into the world and everything that comes in to catch inconsistencies before they turn into problems. Each message is scanned for personal info leaks (SSNs, credit cards, private keys), prompt injection attempts (jailbreaks, instruction overrides), and malicious code (reverse shells, encoded execution). To keep your data even safer, API keys and secrets are injected at the network level so the AI never sees or stores your credentials. Deploy and set up broad-access AI agents built on security with Clam.
Company pivoted from AI tools for hardware design (catching component/design issues) to security infrastructure for AI agents (protecting data and preventing prompt injections) - completely different product, market, and problem.
